Primal Scream are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1982 by vocalist Bobby Gillespie. Originally emerging from the indie pop scene, the group became known for constantly reinventing their sound, blending rock with psychedelia, electronic music, dub, blues and dance influences. Their 1991 album Screamadelica is widely regarded as a landmark release, fusing rock and acid house and winning the Mercury Prize. Across decades of experimentation and political edge, Primal Scream have remained one of Britain’s most influential and adventurous bands, celebrated for their genre-defying creativity and enduring impact.
