Editors are a British indie rock/post-punk revival band formed in 2002 in Birmingham, England by Tom Smith (vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass), Ed Lay (drums) and later joined by Justin Lockey and Elliott Williams after early lineup changes. Known for their dark, atmospheric sound blending sharp guitar work and synth textures, their debut album The Back Room (2005) featured early hits like “Munich” and “Blood” and earned a Mercury Prize nomination. Their follow-up An End Has a Start topped the UK Albums Chart, and they have continued evolving stylistically across multiple acclaimed albums, making them fixtures of the UK rock scene.
